CPU-Z shows empty slot despite RAM being in there & settings correct?

I use to have a 256MB & 256MB (totalling 512MB) PC3200 RAM of same brand in slots 1 & 3 running on dual channel. Then I bought another 512MB of the same type and put it into slot #2. Now CPU-z shows slot 1 as 256MB & slot 2 as 512MB (which is correct), but slot 3 shows empty (where is the other 256MB?).

However, the total RAM on CPU-Z, System memory in CP, & the BIOS startup screen shows 1GB of RAM (correct). This is strange, but probably nothing to worry about? Could be a CPU-z error? Thanks!

I just used the latest CPU-Z and it shows me having 2048MB which is correct but shows only 1 dimm, I have two, 2x1GB.
