I set my ram at 2-3-3-5 and cpu-z 1.3 shows that under the memory tab. However, no matter what I set my ram to, the spd (speed, i assume) shows the default settings for the ram (2.5-3-3-8). What's the difference? Which speed is my ram operating at?

SPD means Serial Presence Detect. It is a chip on the RAM module that has timing information. That tab is showing the deafult timing for your memory module.
