When I first booted up the new system I had to manually adjust the bios multiplier from 6x to 9x. Today I ran CPU-Z and it tells me the multiplier is 6x although i went back to bios and its clearly 9. Is cpu-z wrong or what? Is there any other program I could check the cpu running specs with?

You didn't read the first thread.

By the way, are you checking it while it's idling or under some load? That can make a difference if you have power saving options enabled. That's why it's common for people to see the 6x instead of 9x.

You don't have to. It will move up to 9x once some load has been added. It's there ot save power. You want it to be at 6x when not much is going on.
