CPU woes...IS IT DOA???!

I just popped in a Retail Celeron 900 on an Asus Slocket, on an Asus P2B with version 1014 bios and it doesn't even boot up...nothing..not even a beep from the bios!!! the monitor that the computer is hooked up to didn't even awake from standby mode after powering on the computer. After powerup, the hdd light is just constantly on, and the power button at the front of the case does not power down the system when pushed...i have to push the switch on the back of the computer (the powersupply powerswitch) to power the system down. What could be causing this and what's preventing the system to boot? I know all the parts in the same computer is fully functional because i popped the original cpu back into the system (p2-350@392) and there's no problems.

I tried 1.8v@100fsb and 1.9v@100fsb..but the same thing results...absolutely nothing..🙁 does anyone know what the problem is?? or did i just get a dud cpu?

Thanks Budman...yeah, the celery 900's are at 100fsb...
You don't set the fsb on the slocket..its on the motherboard..
anyone else have any suggestions?

Yes..the motherboard works fine. I stuck the PII that I had originally back into the motherboard, and am typing from it as we speak.
