cpu with price sticker underneath: should i remove it

I just got a new 1ghz amd cpu which has a price type sticker underneath. (i guess this was for warenty id) should i/do i need to remove it for safe computing and overclocking?

Well, if it looks like a wal-mart type price sticker, just peel the thing off.

was it an OEM chip? If so, that's usually the stores warranty sticker. Its up to you if you want to remove it.

Removing the sticker will not improve or burden the CPU's overclocking or heat dissipation. However it might have a minor effect to the accuracy(its not accurate anyways) of temperature thermister in the socket.
