CPU Waterblock on a 939 and AM3 question

I've been running a 939 setup forever and I'm about to take the plunge into AM3 territory. Does anyone know if my 939 CPU waterblock will work in an AM3 motherboard? Because I'm sure I'll get asked this...my water block uses the 2 screw holes that would've held the Heatsink bracket down on the mobo.

most of the new am3 mounts i have seen uses 4 and not 2.

the best i can say is try it out... if it doesnnt work, get new mounts.

what block is this?

If you can swing it, you may just want to go with a new block as you'll need a new hold down at the bare minimum to make it work on an AM2/3 rig. And, blocks have improved greatly since the 939s came out. You'll likely cool a lot better with a block designed for and tested on newer CPUs, esp if it's a quad core.

i would like to know what block it is.

Then i can help you get a mount for it, since 90% of all blocks available have mounts separately.

I'm pretty sure its a Swiftech Apogee GT CPU Water-Block

contact michelle @ swiftech.

She is absolutely awesome.

They should be able to sell you an AM3 mounting plate for cheap if you email them.
