CPU voltage

So I'm undervolting my chip right now. In the BIOS I have it set to 1.2625v. In the BIOS hardware monitor it says 1.36v. CPU-Z states 1.3v and PC Probe states 1.33v. Core Temp states 1.3v as well. Are there any programs out there that give accurate voltage readings?

Try bumping it up to 1.325 in the BIOS. See what all of your readings are.

If the readings all jump up to 1.35-1.37 or so, I'd be very very careful if you ever think about heavy overclocking. Most recent boards undervolt (vdroop), I haven't heard of one overvolting recently...

Use a real voltage reader. There is no program that is going to give you a totally accurate reading.

I cannot use multimeters or anything like that. I have to rely on software readings. Does the type of PSU affect the amount of voltages I get. I am using a generic brand PSU that came with my $40 case from Canada Computers.

I just set the CPU voltage back to auto. Under Orthos load I get 1.33v. I still get the vdroop under load. When the CPU was idle, I was getting 1.38v. These readings were from Asus AI Booster. In the BIOS, the hardware monitor says 1.36v.

If Asus says my CPU voltage is around 1.28v even though I set it to 1.2375v, can I safely assume that the voltages are fluctuating between 1.24v to 1.28v?

Thanks guys.

Agreed. Why can you not use a voltage meter? If you are concerned, it is the ONLY way to get a guaranteed accurate voltage reading.

Because I'm 15. That would mean removing the CPU right? I didn't put this computer together, I paid Canada Computers to do it.

I ran Orthos for 16 hours and it passed. The temps have lowered then what I got when the voltage was at auto.

No, you would not need to remove the CPU to measure this voltage. You would just need to have a look online (probably at a good OCing or modding forum) and find where the measuring point is on your MOBO. There should be a point close to the CPU accessible from the front of the MOBO that you can measure the proper voltage.
