CPU Utilization

This is a general question , and I realize it depends on a different factors . Still here goes :
Today's video player programs are using graphic and sound board to offload most processing from the CPU ?
What would be the typical range , on current PC's , for main CPU utilization , when playing , say a 1080p video with 30 fps , "true HD" quality ?

I know this. I have opened up 9 winamp instances all high quality videos and they all play and use like 40 percent to 60 percent CPU utilization. Thats 9 videos spanned over 2 monitors.. playing in unisysn. One video of 1080p should take depends on application you use.

If Winamp then it takes 5 percent maybe less,, if your on media player about the same.

BTW the option to open mutliple winamp instances is on general preferences put a check in it. thx

BTW fill out your rig specs please on your sig so we can help you better in future. Thanks. gl and gg

Thanks tweakboy .
On my laptop ( Vista32,HP laptop,Intel T7100,Intel 965 ), it's close to 100% , with usually special effects disabled .
Where do I find the rig specs , to edit ?

No problem aviwil. On top go to user cp on top left ,, and then on left side choose signature and fill it all in.

Yes on a lower end CPU the utilization will shoot to 100 percent.

On a Quad CPU and solid video card ,, Also to let you know I use K LITE MEGA CODEC PACK

Soo the winamp videos were using the GPU , I could get a read on them FPS wise using FRAPS.. anyhow..
