CPU using 100% Resource?

Do you guys know if there is a problem with Windows Media Player 7?

This is my problem: after installing WMP 7, when I try to use it for MP3 it pauses every 5-10 second. I can't hear any sound. Now Real Player Plus won't even start. However, I can't watch videos on real player but I can't on WMP 7.

I can listen to CD audio with the CD Player that comes with Windows 2000 then

I decided to Uninstall WMP7 but now the CD audio won't work. My already slow dial-up download drop from 5.7k to 1.6k. While I was building a web site I notice my computer slow down. I decided to check Task Manager and I shows my CPU Usage at 100% on a 236KB page? I restard but it still shows that same 100% Usage

can I fix this problem without formatting.

do you have any other running tasks??

You might want to get Norton Utilities (or some other reg cleaning program) and go through your registry... there may be some bad keys in there.

How much RAM do you have?

Check if someone installed rc5 on your computer, rc5 won't grab resources, but will use unused resources and keep your cpu usage at 100%. From what you are saying, however, whatever it is, it is grabbing a lot of resources. Someone might have changed the rc5 settings to grab more resources, but probably not. It is most likely something else, but you might want to check this possibility out. Check the distributed computering forum for rc5 info, but it might not be what is causing the slow down. A fresh install of Windows might also help.
