CPU Usage Spiking by no identifiable process

Just today after installing Office and GoBack on my laptop (recently reformatted with Win2000 Pro), the CPU usage began rising, causing higher temperatures and perpetual fan activity. But in Task Manager there is no process generating this usage!

In this picture you can see that the CPU Usage is marked at 82%, yet no process is responsible! They are all 0! The graph on the performance tab also reports high CPU usage. My temperatures are rising so clearly task manager is not just wrong. But what could be causing this and how could I stop it? I thought at first, since I had just installed GoBack, that perhaps GoBack's polling service was responsible, even though I have never had a problem like that on any other computer I've put GoBack on. But you can see GBPoll.exe right there in the picture, with 0%. Please help; this is driving me mad. The fans in my laptop are fragile (I just replaced them for the second time) and I don't want to overwork them.
