Hey folks, I know this sounds like a dumb question, but what in the world is going on. My system seems to be running with CPU usage at 59% or higher in Windows XP a majority of the time. Games and even Web pages are loading dog ass slow. Any suggestions?

Windows XP Pro
512MB PC-133 RAM
ATI Radeon LE 32MB AGP
Intel P3 667Mhz CPU

Thanks

update and run adaware it could be some nasty spyware thats poorly coded! Also could just be some newly installed software that loads at startup that also has been poorly coded or is just not desighned to run on XP! Get adaware here Adaware

I had the same problem, looked everywhere for a solution...The built in windows help actually did the job! Type "msconfig" in your Run box, disable all "Services", and reboot. Go back into your msconfig, and, one at a time, recheck the boxes, rebooting after each one, until you find the culprit. Make sure you "test" your system and check your cpu usage each time. This is what I did and my system runs great!
