CPU Usage 100%

Today I restarted my computer. Once it started up I went under my computer and it took a while to load the drives. So I checked the task manager and the CPU Usage was 100%. I've tried shutting down programs, but right now the only thing running is the Task Manager, and FireFox and a few SVCHOSTS.exe's I'm not sure where to start, anyone have any idea's? Thanks.

If you look on the Task Manager's Processes tab, and scroll down slowly, you should be able to see which process is running. It's probably some application that you have set to run on startup. Either kill it with the Task Manager, or reboot to see if the problem returns.

so pull up task manager and see which one is hogging all the CPU cycles. if it's fishy, make a note of what it is, terminate it, and remove it. it can be a trojan.

Thanks figuard it out. turns out there was a document waiting to be printed on the network from my computer and that was eating up the CPU.

spoolssv.exe is whats eating up the CPU. For some reason when I end it in task manager after a few mins it pops back up again using the CPU 100%
