im looking into upgrading the family computer (Pentium II 400 gateway (ugh)). i found this and thought it might be worth a try. they have a Celeron 766 for $129, Celeron 1 GHz for $159 and a Celeron (Tualatin) 1.2 for $169... anyone had any experience with one of these? also, how big of a power supply would you need for either the 766 or 1.2?

The best out of the 3 u listed is the Celi (Tualatin) but you wount be albe to use it in ur gateway comp.......... i think u might use the other ones (depends on the type of the processor). Anyhow if u are not gonna go over 1gig i'd say 250W of power is sufficient........... if you gonna go beyond the speed of sound, go with 300W just to be save.

I agree. This is a better price/performance solution.

Whatever you do, go for a Celeron 800 - 1100. Below 800 used a 66 MHz bus, 800 and up use 100 MHz bus. Best bet is get your own slocket and CPU
