CPU Upgrade worth it?

Is upgrading my Athlon XP 2600 to a 3200 worthwhile?

I know my system bus speed will have to
increase from 333 to 400.

My system specs:
AMD Athlon XP 2600+, 1913 MHz (11.5 x 166)
Biostar M7NCD Pro
Corsair Value Select 512MBx2 DDR PC-3200 (Dual Channel)
10GB / 200GB / 48X CDRW / Floppy
XFX Geforce 6600GT 128MB AGP8x
ViewSonic VP171B-2 17" LCD Monitor, 8ms
Sound Blaster Audigy

You'll probably notice the difference... but I wouldn't spend money on such an outdated part. A new socket 939 or even 754 setup would give you more bang for your buck in my opinion. More upgrade options, more performance. Unless you can get the 3200+ really cheap, like $10, I wouldn't waste the time or money because even though it is an upgrade from what you have, it's not a big enough upgrade to allow you to do things you can't do now.

I"m with most other people here in that unless its free or $10 I wouldn't do it. You may notice a slight difference, but not enough to make you happy with the upgrade. When I upgraded my Old XP box years ago from a 1700+ to a 2500+ I was dissapointed with the performance gain personally. (and my 1700+ wasn't even OC'd) Save up for a little longer, and jump on a Socket 939 board and 3500+ or above if you want to feel good about your upgrade. Or even hold out for an X2 3800+ if you really want to cream your shorts.

if
you have some ddr400 memory- a must
you can score a 3200 xp from one of these guys who just upgraded- there's lots of them
I just scored a xp-M think I'm not going to stick it into a box somewhere?
take some of that expensive ram sitting around and use that also- It's a waste in an a-64

if you are going to go a64 or sempron remember you have to make a videocard choice also- so it's a non trivial decision
see you have a nice AGP video Card and the ram- go for it if youcan score the chip
or as they said above- one of the bundles
