cpu upgrade (p4b533e)?

Currently have a p4 2.26 (processor appears to be dying, not a dust issue) in an asus p4b533-e, don?t want to switch motherboards but was wondering what the best processor I could get would be? Don?t mind overclocking and have pretty good airflow in the case, so price performance, go for a 3.06 with hyperthreading, or a 2.4B and overclock, or what? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

If you want to use the 3.06, be aware that Asus' CPU-support finder is indicating you need the 1.02 revision of the PCB.
