cpu upgrade on laptop and thermal tape

I just upgraded my cpu for my laptop and I didn't apply any extra thermal tape onto the cpu and it seems like some of the thermal tape on the heatsink came off on the old cpu. But the CPU temp reads as 50 C when active like hell but 29 on avg. Should I be concerned that the temp reading will change drastically later on?

I would suggest cleaning the heatsink and new CPU and applying some kind of thermal grease. Try to get something that will last a long time as laptops are not prone to CPU upgrades.

Your temps seem ok ....

My dell runs at 45 degree celcius.. at IDLE! (P4 2.4 M)

That thats within safety limits...
