I have a P3V4X revision 1.02 BIOS 1005.
I upgraded CPU to PIII 933. I'm getting this message;
<BIOS:>BIOS update incorrect. CPUID=0000068A,. Update Not loaded.

How do I resolve?

Thank- you

Are you using the `jumper free` settings? Perhaps the settings for the old cpu are still jumpered if not?!?

leave it on jumper free setting, and reset your CMOS by removing the battery (or if you know where the jumpers are to clear the cmos use those) put the battery back in, and see where that gets you. Basically what is happening is the computer thinks it has the old cpu in there, and since the 933 is not the old one, it is giving you this error (I think) Try clearing the CMOS and see if that gets you anywhere. If it doesn't, you may need to flash the bios.

You need to flash the BIOS.

BIOS version 1005 does not support cD0 stepping processors. As the BIOS cannot recognise what processor you have, it cannot load the microcode update. The microcode update contains stepping specific configuration information, such as patches for processor errata and other small but important items.

Please flash to the latest BIOS, Version 1006 Beta 003.

Don't let the Beta status put you off. This BIOS is perfectly stable. ASUS leaves BIOS upgrades in beta status for most discontinued boards, even though they still support them.

Thank You greatly, I have a happy computer!!

Interestingly, the 1006 beta from asus.com.tw did not work, however the german beta did work. The release were a little different. I would NEVER have thought to look on two different servers. I quiet socked that a company with thier reputation for quality would not hve better quality controls!!

Thanks:)
