"Cpu unworkable or Changed" did I crush my core?

I just bought a kt7a, and built a new duron 750 system. I had trouble getting the chrome orb on, but it fit nicely once I figured it out. Now when I try to boot up, it gives me that message... did I crush it or what? I haven't tried the pencil trick or anything on it..

No, it just means you need to go into the Bios and save, then reboot. All should be well. Same thing happened to me when I tried my brother's TBIRD 650 in place of my TBIRD 1.1G.

oie cool, thanks for the help I just figured it out incidentally.
now I've just got to figure out how to get the thing to boot from floppy so I can install an o/s. thanks

just make sure that floppy comes first in the boot order in bios, followed by your hdd!

hehe got it, I'm up and running on the kt7a system now. I just don't want to take off the orb and pencil the l1s now, I'm too scared to go through that again
