CPU Themral Paste Remover

In this build I am doing, I want to re-use the processor. How would I remove the extra thermal paste from the surface of the heat spreader on the processor. I am probaly over analyzing the situation.

Mineral spirits, 70% or higher isoproyl alcohol, and even acetone all work quite well. Just use a Q-tip to apply the solvent you choose, then use a coffee filter to remove it. Coffee filters work best because they leave absolutely nothing behind, like a Q-tip will.
 
Coffee filters are OK, but often a bit coarse. Real lens cleaning tissues work better.

Damn, you guys get fancy.😉

I use a clean old rag and rubbing alcohol. Let dry. Reapply.
