what are good temps for a AMD 1.2 Ghz and Epox 8K7A ?

Depends on HSF

Cheap HSF - 55C is good

Good HSF - 39C is good.

Both are under load temps

I've got a chrome orb by thermal take and a volcano II but i'm using the chrome orb

How do you "lapp" a heatsink ? I've seen that around in the forums but dont know exactly what that is.

lol i have cheap hsf (volcano II) i'm getting 37C load.

Volcano 2 is better.

Don't worry about lapping. It may help ya 1C or 2, but with a HSF like the Volcano2 you will not be doing heavy duty OCing anyways. Its much more important to install the HSF and thermal grease correctly, than it is to lap.

okay. I'm going to put the VOlcano II on, but at the bottom I tried to get the used thermal pad off, and its like half off! i cant really get the rest off. what should i DO ? How do i get it off.
