CPU temps????

just installed amd setup (1700+): according to abits mobo doctor, my temps are 42 degrees C (44 degrees C after running unreal2k3 for about 20 minutes). is this too high? also, i noticed the system hung a few times on reboots and i got dashed orange lines. any idea what may be causing this? thanx

GAH ... I will take ur temp. if I can get it now .. my P4 2.66 with 768 MB RAM and Ti4200 is averaging at 57-60 degrees ...

really sucks ..

Really your p4 runs at that temp, is it overclocked? That can't be its normal temp, Do the high end P4's like 2.4 GHz+ run as hot as the high end athlons, 2400 and up?

Your temp is really good, actually. 44 degrees after load? MARVELLOUS! On my stock sink+arctic silver+6500RPM fan i get 45 degrees after load (i got a 2600+ Step 1), and 41 idle.

whitedog is that the idle temp or under load?
my 2100+ with stock hsf and thermal pad is 48C in bios and on mbm5 it is 65C after 90mins prime
it ram fine but i quickly stopped when i saw that temp!

Idle. While AsusProbe was running, I played Hitman2 for about 3 hours last night... the temp was 57c when I exited the game. It then slowly went back to 52c.

I don't have a stock HS. I have a copper one (it's small, but copper none the less).

And BTW, 65c isn't going to burn out your CPU. It may shorten it's life from 8 years to maybe 5 or 6 years, but who uses a CPU that long?
