CPU temps- Which do you believe

This is the first rig I have ever built and..
My Bios says that my CPU temp is about 33to 34 degres C. I just installed a mo/bo utility program that says 53C. this is right after initial startup. I hope the bios is right. What do you think?

enlight 7237 case with additional 80mm rear fan
enermax 431watt power supply(has two fans)
global win (amd approved) HSF
Hercules 3d prophet pro
hercules game theater xp
20 Gig IBM deskstar 7200rpm

I ought to be able to make ice cubes in this.
I was sitting here fat dumb and happy thinking I at least had a nice cool running system but now I am not sure

I am not sure I understand the difference between the two? If I go to the BIOS isn't that the motherboard monitor?
 
With an AMD provided heatsink, I'd definately say that the windows based monitor is reporting as accurately as is to be expected.
 
Mikewarrior, you did link it. I responded before I had found the link. I downloaded MBM 5.0 and installed and it is giving me essentially the same temps that the BIOS gave. 34C. I guess the utility from gigabyte is way off. My heat sink isn't even hot to touch. And to one of the other post. I don't have a stock AMD HSF. I have a globalWin FOP 32. Thanks to all who responded.
 
He said right after windows boots, it's at around 53C. Well, that could be correct to the fact that the CPU hasn't had time to cool off after processing the bootup.
The BIOS is giving an idle temp.
 
im running my Thunderbird 1Ghz @ 33º-36º celcius in my BIOS + all programs except MBM when it is 33º-37º all the time, thats with the FOP32-1 (AMD approved) although i lapped it and im using AS i think these are pretty resonable
