CPU Temps and RAM Speed

I pulled up the Piriform program Speccy, and took a look at my system profile.

Am running a stock i7 930 @ 2.8GHz, and my idle temp is around 36-C with the Asetek version of what used to be the H50. After 45 minutes of Crysis 2, temp is at about 51-C. Both seem a bit high to me.

Also, my memory reads the following:

6.00 GB Triple-Channel DDR3 @ 539MHz (7-7-7-20)

That seems slow for PC1333 memory. Pretty sure my ancient MacBook's memory runs at 667MHz, and this thing is a LOT more beastly than that notebook.

It would be in your BIOS somewhere. The default ram speed for an i7-930 is 1066 (or 800 if SPD suggests lower)

If You have a x58 or better MB. you need to change this in your BIOS. Hopefuly you have XMP ready RAM chips, if not get them and you will love the immidiate speed increase without the heat. This is a safe overclock the board and chip were designed to handle. (Without the increased heat issue) that a manual overclock would create.
