What are acceptable temperature ranges for a coppermine?

I'm asking this because I just had a crash at a cpu temp of 53°C and i'd like to know if heat is the problem.

I've still got retail hsf on my 600E@800 and it's rock stable at 55 C ... It's a little higher than I would like it to be but well inside the specs for cumine 🙂 I think they're supposed to handle temperatures up to 70-80 C ...
 
I would say it's a bit high. Mine is just about 37C at the room temp 27C. You might want to consider an additional cooling device.
 
Is that under load or just idle? My 600E@800 1.75v retail h/s fan runs 55°C under load, which i have NO problems with. The max spec is 82°C according to intel.

CPU - 33C Idle / 34C Stressed

The key for me was installing a rear case fan. I used to be close to 50C before I installed it, even with the orb.
