System Specs:

Abit IS7 motherboard
P4 2.8 Ghz 800 mhz fsb
Radeon 9700 pro
Audigy 2 soundcard
Wester Digital 120 GB 8 MB cache
thermaltake spark 7 heatsink/fan with artic silver 3
1 slot blower
1 side intake
1 rear intake
1 rear exhaust
1 power supply exhaust
1 hard drive cooler

my cpu idles around 40C and hits 56C after 4 minutes of Burn In Cpu testing
Is this normal for my configuration or should it be cooler

i think that should be a little cooler than that with all that case cooling, and a fairly decent cpu cooler.. perhaps it isnt seated right, also, you have an is7 so its probably reading temps higher

Its not abnormal. I would change the side fan to exhaust so it isn't fighting the cpu fan. Can you put an intkae in the front. It seems like your airflow patterns would be phucked up. Wires in the way.

I have a similar setup with stock coolin and my temps are 25sys/36cpu idle and 45 cpu after two hours prime 95.

My IC7-g doesn't. Proper airflow and a tidy case can do wonder. Your temps are not considered real high but if you plan on overclocking I would look into cooling them down.

Abit's temps sensors are messed up and read 10-15°C too hot. Read the hundreds of posts on this subject at Abit-usa forums and OCforums.

Your temps are fine.
