CPU Temperature reading - Accuracy

I just want to know how accurate the temperature reading of CPUs is in the BIOS setup. Most comps I have idle between 25C and 35C in my climate but for some reason my P4 2.4B is reporting in the BIOS a temperature of around 65C idle, and using the MSI monitoring utility a tad below 70 under load. My computer is very stable - no hard lock crashes in recent memory, it is rock stable in both ME and XP. I am just worried about the extremely high temps when Intel's documentation that came with the CPU lists the max temp at 70C. Is my PC really running that hot?

I've checked HS/F correctly installed, no dust build up?

what's goin on

What is the room temperature?

My friend had the same problem with his AMD 64. Update your BIOS.
