CPU temperature question

My cpu temperatures in idle mode are about 40-45 degrees celcius...and about 44-49 degrees celcius in full load.... is this normal for a alpha pal8045 heatsink that I payed 32$ for and costs 40$ actually... and with a paper thin layer of artic silver 3?

or are they still this high because artic silver 3 hasnt had time to settle in yet? because i just built this pc and this is second day turning it on and artic silver says it needs 72 hours to fully work, is it because of that?

my case temperatures are from 25-30 degrees celcius, is this normal also? i have 1 panaflo L1A 120mm 69cfm 30db intake and 1 80mm exhaust on top...but as soon as i get by tail for my 2 panaflo H1A 80mm fans i will add them also

can you also post your processor, cpu temps (idle/load), case temps, and how many fans you have for case, and heatsink

I was also wondering how everyone gets temperatures at like 30-40 degrees, under 40... and i also have one of the best heatsinks in the market right now... what do you think is the problem... i fastened the screws on the heatsink tightly so it touches core...

what motherboard do you have? Socket-A temps are soo dependant on motherboard compensation, location of thermistor, etc, that it makes it impossible to cross compare temps with a different motherboard.

That's a normal temp for a Kr7A series of motherboard. I"ve seen an average of 15-20C over ambient system temp, irregardless of heatsink/cooling setup.

What fan do you have on your heatsink? That may lower your temps a little bit more. and...

The two additional case fans will probably further lower temps a bit more.

I took one of the case fans that came with the case and put it on the heatsink its a 80mm one.. i dont know what kind... i did this because my panaflo h1a is untailed and until i get it tailed i have to use this one...

EDIT: I jsut looked and its a power logic 80mm one... you think the Panaflo H1A will inprove temps with 39CFM and 32DB??

EDIT2: OH yeh and usually while doing regular tasks, like surfing the web, etc... the cpu temps are around 45degrees ceclius and 29 degree celcius case temps.. this is normal right.. im also planning to overlock.. you think when they hit about 50 degrees its normal.. how do people get CPU temps in the freaking lower 30s anyway???

if you're that concerned about temps, you can always bend down the thermistor (this will result in 7-10C in drops on a kr7a). J/K.

Low 30C temps are almost certainly a portion of which attribued to low case temps + low reading motherboards. Its not very hard to imagine a 34C "cpu" temp with a 20C ambient case temp. THe problem is when everyone looks at these numbers, and then worries because their temps aren't as low.

rest assured that the kr7a, while reading "higher" temps, is closer to true CPU temp than are these low30 readings you see.
