Is it okay if my CPU temps are always at 44C ? All the time ? It never goes down and always is there or higher. Even when I don't use the computer, its about there. Isn't it supposed to go down if I leave the computer alone doing nothing overnight ?

you're fine, this is a common question, they are actaully rated to go as high as like 90c or something, but i wouldnt want mine to go over 55-60, but ya 44 is fine, little weird that it stays there all the time, but its not a problem, out of curiousity, what cpu cooler you have?..

CPU temps in bios mean jack, if it doesn't crash and the HSF doesnt burn your hand when touched, it is fine. ;)

It is still getting a LOT of electricity through it. Sure windows2k has nifty power manangement, but you will STILL make a lot of heat on idle. A cpu will never be getting NO electricity through it, so it will ALWAYS be fairly hot.

I am at 39 right now. If you put your HSF on you should be closer to 40 or so. BUT, your bios temp may be off by as much as 10C. Dont worry about it. If it is stable, it is OKAY.

Is there a special setting i can use or another HSF that will significantly decrease that idle temp ? And I should Also mention those are temps without a cover on my case. Thanks

really, its fine.. sure you could go out and get a 7000rpm black label delta fan, and it might cool it down a little more, but its ok.. dont worry bout it, .. unless you're going to OC it..

If you have a well ventilated case, then the case off is actually hurting your temps. You not allowing the airflow of the case to remove warm air from around the cpu fast enough.

my 1ghz@1.45ghz tbird w/ taisol HSF idles at about 36c(29c case temps), but this is in a case with 4 80mm fans, and a justcooler bay cooler that sucks air OUT my top slot.
