CPU temp shows 127 C/290 F??

I know the temp isnt really at 127/290.. but it shows it.. Ive put my cpu through two motherboards(of the same kind: SK8V).. could it be the cpu that reads high temps?

Where does it show? In BIOS or Motherboard Monitor? If in later, you got your settings wrong, pick a different sensor in settings.

Tried both.. all show the same.. even tried asus probe

Um, try to attach your heat sink a little better. You're gonna burn your boards up.

The computer has been running fine for 3 days.. and im posting on it right now.. No problems with the cpu.. at 127 C.. the cpu would have been smoking like crazy..

If 2 boards say the same thing, maybe its you cpu who's defect.

Ya, it's highly irregular and it's gonna fail. Watch and see. When you get your box fixed, come back and tell us about the sounds/smell it made before it just went dead.
