CPU Temp - Sandra Posts 65C, Mobo Monitor Posts 38C ..WTF??

Why is there such a big difference? Which one is more accurate? I have tbird 1ghz@1.2ghz 1.85v fop32-1 msik7tpro2...what's going on? The Bios also states 38C..what is wrong w/ sandra?

Sandra is absolutely wrong. It usually is wrong, too.

MBM and Bios should read the same temp. And, as typical of the msi boards, they are read too low.

so what do you think my actual temp is? mobo and case temp both read 26C

Sandra: 24.1c, 42.3c
PC Alert III: 20c, 40c
MBM 5: 21c, 40c

Mike, if MBM and PC Alert (MSi's) both read a little low, would that make Sandra right or closer to being right? Since it's higher than the other two temps by a bit?

wow, 65? that's way off i'd hope!

My mbm agrees with bios, usually around 105F for the cpu

i have a k7m

The problem is, Sandra isn't higher because its "compensating" the reading, its just higher for no apparent reason. If it added a +10, then I would say yes.

But there are cases, like with my setup, where Sandra reports the temp far lower than my diode reading.

P.S. MSI boards tend to read 6-10/15C too low.
