CPU Temp rise after bios flash

Cpu temp shot up from 37c to 48c at idle after bios was flashed,What gives?

the actual temp did not change, the monitoring of it did. the temp sensors in computers are not good for much other than relative temperature.

I am using the Zalman CNPS7000 ALCU and was thinking about getting the Thermalright XP120 to bring the temps down before starting to OC

MBM5 is reading the temps at CPU 44c, system 31c

your temps may not improve since the zalman already is pretty good. The most that will happen is that your system temp goes down because of the 120mm fan of the XP120. However, your cpu might drop 3-4C max. What kinda thermal goo you using btw? Also is dust a problem?

Dust is not a problem, I clean it every other day. As for the thermal goo it is AS5
