CPU Temp Question

I have a Toshiba Satellite #1415-S105 (laptop with XP Home SP3 and updates)
I think maybe the cpu fan is not working or working correctly. MBAM is showing
case temp of 116F / CPU of 125F while it is sitting on my lap. What should the
cpu temp average ? How hard is it to replace the fan on this unit ? ?

Thanks for assistance.

125F is only ~ 51C. Not extreme by any means. Maybe your leg is blocking the air flow somewhat....

OK .. I thought 125F was considered high, especially since on occassion,
I see a Yellow Triangle witih ! in it. Can't figure out what it is from. Ran virus and rootkit scans on Saturday, both came up clean. Also ran MBM and it said 0 fan rpm once .. not sure if the laptop cycles it on & off or what RPM the laptop fan should run at. MBM is set to monitor fan at 1500RPM

Don't tsalk F - computer users generally use C. 51C is warm normal. 1500 RPM doesn't mean much unless you specify fan size. What counts is CFM - cubic feet per minute.

I am used to F as I live in the US. But 125F converts to between 51 - 52C, and I just checked the Intel site for a 1.6GHZ Celeron and it says max is 73C .. so it looks like it is within specs. But I will probably check and clean the heatsink and fan.

I blow mine out with a can of air about once a month by blowing into the exhaust and out the intake. Make sure the notebook is off and try not to spin the fan too fast with the air.
