Is there anyway i can find out my CPU temp on my BH6?
It doesnt have anything in the BIOS and Motherboard monitor picks up that it is 56C and it doesnt change. Does it just not support it at all or is there a way i can do it?

thanks

The BH6 does not support reading of the on-die temperature. The best you can do is get a thermistor and place as close as you can to the face of the processor. Radio Shack among other places sell an indoor/outdoor temperature monitor that can be used for this. They are around $10 to $20. Some sites have modifying instruction for them so you can use two thermistors. One is inside the case.

The temperature on the BH6 is measured on the LM179(?) chip which is located near the outside of the board between the ISA and PCI slots.

If you are interested and can't find the links, let me know.

yeah it uses the LM79, well thats what MB monitor says..
I have one of those indoor/outdoor things but the temp reader is a round plastic things with double sided tape on one side. Should i just put it as close to the cpu as i can get or is there something better to do with it? Id love to have the address of one of those place where they modify it.

thanks

There is a better way, it is an infrared thermometer that can give an accuracy of +/- 2% . This tool is so cool Just aim ,pull trigger and read temp............. no need of touching, made by raytec some come with laser/ has min & max reading about $ 90.00

Doesn't the utility Motherboard Monitor 5 read the LM179 and give a close enough temp on the BH6, that's what I use?

The BH6 uses the LM79 not LM179. It only supports motherboard temp monitor and not CPU temp monitoring. I have one so I should know. If you want to monitor your CPU temp you'll have to add a thermistor or some other method yourself
