While reading through the fires of the previous tempurate post and a few of the others many folks talk about the CPU socket temp(viewable), the CPU diode temp(viewable?, in windows?), and the CPU Internal temp(not viewable). I'm just trying to get a clarification on these. I have an Abit NF7-S.

What is reported in the BIOS via PCHealth?

Which does the BIOS use to shut down the computer at X degrees?

I've also installed MBM and can select the sensors but don't see how to view any but the socket temp. Same with winbond monitor.

Thanks much,

The NF7 will only report socket temp, whether in windows or the bios.
The " the CPU diode temp" and the "CPU Internal temp" are the same thing.
The bios option for shutting the system down at a certain temp will read from the cpu's internal diode.
So why can't we monitor the diode temp? Who knows?

All I needed. Thanks.

On one hand, I'm envious of you. On the other, I look at you funny. ( However, I'm on the third floor of an apt building. ;) )
