CPU Temp going up over time?

For the last few days my CPU temp has jumped 9c idle, from the 37idle it used to be to 46c and it's at 51c now. I'm not running anything excpet Trillian, Xfire, and Firefox (coretemp, obviously.)

What is causing this? My ambient temps are the same, I cleaned the fins of dust, I haven't tampered with the HSF.
 
where do you live? got pretty freakin hot here in san diego. Hotter house temps = hotter CPU temp, since the intake air will be warmer.
