Just wondering... My XP-M 2600 consistently runs 15-16C over my case temp (under load) with an SP97 mounted on it. I currently have an enermax 90mm manually adjustable fan on it - spinning at 2200 rpm.
I've remounted the HSF twice to be certain it's properly seated and everything seems fine with the installation. Using AS-5. I'm curious if this is near average performance for this heatsink and fan combo. Thanks for any feedback.
Note: My stock case had really atrocious airflow...was running 30-35C case temps before removing all fan grills. I've still got to improve the clearance on the front intake, as even without a stamped grill over the fan, its still gotta breath through a really tight slot behind the bezel. Only a couple of small diameter holes through the base of the bezel allow fresh air in... Even with these high case temps my CPU maintains a constant 16C hotter
