CPU Temp: Bios or Asus Probe correct?

The CPU temperature reading in the BIOS is always 8* C less than what Asus Probe displays when in win xp.
Anyone know which one is correct?

Software says temp is at 60* (which is kinda bad) but bios says 52* which is hot but acceptable.

Well, the load in the BIOS is probably less than in even Windows, but I wouldn't think that would be so significant. Are you checking BIOS temps from a cold boot? Case and CPU temps will rise if you are coming from a cold boot.

I've found Asus Probe to be relatively accurate. Its always within 4F of the readings from my Lian-Li thermal probe, which is touching the side of the core (with some AS3 to ensure proper contact). Not much difference from the BIOS either.
