CPU Temp 84C with core voltage 1.34!!!!!!!

on my AMD 1.333 not overclocked i have this sucker reading temps of 84 C with no load!!! It's on an Iwill KK266R and Coolermaster 6I11. I plan on getting a better HS/Fan combo, I just need some advice. BTW I have an Inwin case w/ 300W PS.

I would take off the HSF and re-apply it, odds are there is not a tight contact between it and the core.

Even if it's working, it pushes 22CFM. That's not enough airflow.

I reset the HS and it's about the same for temps...I'm just wondering if its reading wrong with the Iwill hardware monitor....WTF>>>Now my BIOS is reading 43 C!!!! Which one should I trust?

If your heatsink is mounted properly & the bios shoes 43C,I would go with the bios reading. Try Motherboard Monitor instead of you IWILL hardware monitor.

Are you using thermal grease or the thermal pad that comes on some h/s?

I'm just using the thermal pad that came with the HS ....With MBM5,...which is the sensor for the CPU?

I'm using the nonraid kk266, I have it set as via686b-2 for cpu, and via686b-1 for system. Could be reversed.

Turn on a cpu intensive program like seti,rc5,stab,etc.The cpu sensor will be the one that climbs the fastest & then drops quickly when you shut off your cpu intensive program.

Your better off removing the thermal pad,take care not to scratch up the surface of the h/s & then apply a thin layer of thermal paste thebest or Radio Shack has some that will do for a couple of bucks

wow, that sounds toasty and a half.....the 43 sounds more acurate though, i'd go with that temp reading, and are you sure it's 84C and not 84F???? that seems a little warm. and yes, get thermal paste, should help with any irregularities in your HSF....

When you de-mount the HSF, you will need to remove the remaing pads and reapply a new layer of pad or grease to the heatsink. 43C is a more likely reading. I have a 1.33Ghz OC to 1.4Ghz with EP5-6I11, temp is about 45C from MB Bios.
