CPU Technologies Upgrade Question

Looking to upgrade my desktop and have a I7-2600. Looking to upgrade to more of a modern chipset. Should I be waiting until Ryzen 2 hits? I have no idea what I want to purchase, but would like to buy at the sweetspot. Think bang for the dollar, etc. I do game, but typically it is light gaming and not a fully devoted as time is tight for my life. Any thoughts? Thanks.

For light gaming the i7-2600 is probably good for a while yet.
There will be a lot happening this year, so just wait.

Well, the AM4 socket and chipset works for Ryzen and Ryzen 2, so if you wanted a more modern chipset, that would be it. If you didn't care that Ryzen 2 is coming soon, then you could buy now.
