cpu speed not recognized properly

I just built a new rig with Vista Home Premium 64 bit. I overclocked to 3.4 GHz and in my system properties it's showing at 2.4 ghz still...what's up with that?

What does CPU-Z say?

System Properties just reads the info on the CPU itself, which overclocking will not change. Mine has the default speed and then the overclocked speed.

its probably reading the model number, which would be 2.4 ghz, and not the actual speed.
