CPU Speed in BIOS different than SANDRA?!

This is odd...I just noticed this recently. My P4 1.6A Northwood is overclocked to 2.4GHz but in Windows (Control Panel - System) and in Sandra, it reports the speed to be 1.4GHz.

Any idea why this is happening? BIOS shows 2.4GHz, Windows and Sandra show 1.4GHz.

Probably an old version of Sandra, or it's not recognizing your CPU/Motherboard properly.

Actually, I installed the 2004 version yesterday. It's not just Sandra though, under Control Panel in Systems, it's also showing it as a 1.4GHz.

Weird....apparently this is only a problem when I choose an FSB of 145MHz. If I choose any other FSB, it represents it correctly in Windows/WCPUID/Sandra. Must be a problem with the BIOS that was never addressed.

I'd have to be extremely stupid to make that mistake 😛, unless the retail box that said 1.6A actually contained a P4M!
