CPU Smart Fan Function [Disabled] [Auto] [Manual]
CPU FAN Low PWM [0 to 127]
CPU FAN Temp of Low PWM [0 to 127]
CPU FAN Slope(PWM/oC) [0 to 15]
CPU SMART FAN Delta T [0 to 31]

I would "enable" the smart fan function and see if the values for everything else change. For cpu fan low PWM I would go for 1200. For cpu fan temp low try 25c. Cpu fan slope leave blank. For cpu fan delta try 65c (if temp) or 3000 (if rpm). Cpu fan slope could also be high temp, then go for 65c. I've used ecs boards and this is the first time I've seen such bios settings. You might get another response if you list your board and cpu. I use 3000 for my cpu fan to keep the noise down, but you can go higher if you're overclocking.

CPU SMART FAN Delta T actually only lets you choose a number between 0 and 31, which rules out it being the temp at which the fan will run 100%. I think this is the only setting I'm confused about. I've seen "Delta T" before, but related to NiMH battery charging.

I have the ECS Geforce6100SM-M Socket AM2 motherboard. The CPU Smart Fan Function is in the PC Health Status section of the AWARD BIOS. I assume most other current ECS AMD motherboards will have the same thing.

I set the CPU Smart Fan Function to "Auto," and it spins down my stock CPU fan from 3000rpm to 1500rpm (great for noise reduction). But it doesn't spin back up when the CPU gets hot under load (probably still under the temp threshold in Auto mode). So I wanted to try setting it manually.

My ECS manual is pretty useless when it comes to BIOS settings. Almost every description for the settings are "set it to enabled if you want to turn it on. Disabled if you want to turn it off." :p
