I currently have a duron 600mhz that will do 950mhz at 42' all day long and goes down to 37' at idle and the center "die" part has 2 of the 4 corners chipped. some of the posts I have seen, seem to say that a chipped cpu is useless am I understanding what is being said wrong or what?

A chipped CPU can mean a dead CPU. I also came across a case where an a64 Clawhammer core that had the IHS removed and the core chipped worked fine in VIA chipset motherboards, but not in NF3 motherboards. However, as long as it is p95 stable in whatever circumstance it is being used, it is fine. Most AXPs can survice corner chips and still work fine.

Whats a Duron good for anyway? :p I suppose that if it works, then it works. It could become unstable at some point, but since it works now, I guess that it should work forever, especially since it OCed.

I've seen some pretty beat-up CPUs that still seem to work fine. It probably wouldn't hurt anything to try it. If it works, great.
