I have an AMD XP1700. I'm not overclocked or anything. I used CPUCool v7.2.3 to monitor the temperatures. My temps read as follows:
soon after booting up: temp1 = 20.5 temp2 = 50.2 temp3 = 28
after running for about half an hour with winamp playing: temp1 = 22.7 temp2 = 58.9 temp3 = 37.1
I have a GlobalWin FOP38 fan that I bought for my last computer but it was way too loud for me. With the GlobalWin fan plugged in and two fans blowing air pretty quickly out the back of the case, my temperatures were:
temp1 = 20.8 temp2 = 45.9 temp3 = 27.1
Does this seem way too hot for a non-overclocked AMD?
The fan that came with the CPU is kinda dinky. It is about 1/2" thick.
Here are the specs on the GlobalWin fan:
Application Intel 370 /1.133 GHZ , AMD 462/A up to 1.5GHZ
Dimensions 70x62x37
Fan Size 60x60x25
Rated Voltage (V) 12 volt
Noise Level(dBA) 46.5dBA
Air Volume (CFM) 37.6CFM
Rated Speed(RPM) 6800RPM
Bearing System Dual-BALL BEARING
Heat Sink Material Aluminum 6030
Fan Safety UL/CE/CSA
Thermal Resistance Theta ja=0.48c/w
Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm using an AOpen case that I got from the local computer store.
