Hello,

Processor Intel P4 2.8/800 with standard fan and heatsink.

Intel m c 01
Pentium 4
2.80/512/800
SL6WJ Malay
L317B032
M323B322
0369

My cpu runs well over 60c under load and around 40c when idle. This seems a little too hot!

What should I do to reduce this?

I have a fairly cheap case with just two fans, 1 x front for intake and 1 x back for exhaust. Do I get a decent case with more cooling or do I get a better CPU cooling solution? I've been looking at the Gigabyte 3D Rocket Pro CPU cooler.

Thanks in advance

PJ

Thats a bit warm for a northwood. The zalman that Kensai suggested is good, or thermalright XP-90.

Thanks for all your suggestions.

I have a Gigabyte GA-8KNXP wih the DPS daughter card. Will any of these coolers clash with the surrounding hardware?

the xp-90 is really good, and it doesnt take up very much space. or you could go for the xp-90c.
