CPU requirements for a PDC?

Hi all,

Got a n00b networking question:
How much CPU power is required for a PDC (that's doing nothing but functioning as a PDC) on a smallish network (~100 clients maximum)? I can't imagine that this is something that would tax even an Atom or a C7, but I really have no idea. Thoughts?

Also, as an aside, do Intel's PCI-E gigabit cards-this one in particular-offer any measurable performance advantage (not just for a PDC, but also for file and database servers) over the various onboard Intel gigabit NICs that Supermicro and the like put on their boards? I don't see why it would unless the onboard chip didn't support link teaming and you intended to use that feature. Is there something that I'm missing?

Thanks.
