cpu, ram, or Mobo bad??

CPU temps have dropped to temp of mobo. CPU mips down to a 1/3 of normal as is the ram. Which is the more likely....cpu bad, ram bad, or motherboard bad?

I'm guessing the cpu due to the temps?

Any insight apprciated.

Thanks in advance,

Sorry about that. Forgot to plug in the details. I built the computer for my wife and it did not have to be much, but it has the P4 2.6 800 FSB w/ HT on the ASUS P4P800E. Antec 480 power supply. I'm using a 100 gig hdd, win2K, etc.

Which bios settings?

The problem occurred suddenly. I came home and the Asus probe showed that the temp dropped down to the temp of the mobo almost instantly sometime during the day.

Everything else has been the same for months. Ran a scan at pcpitstop and the readings showed down to 1/3 the normal for both the mobo & ram. MIPS was in the 3000 range, and the score was at 35% of what 15000 others scored.

Wasn't sure if the processor almost died dropping its cycles to 1/3 reduced the temp and affected the ram, or the mobo is interferring with the interaction of the cpu & ram, etc.

Thanks for the response.
