CPU question: fast, but not that fast

I was wondering what is the fastest CPU I can use that does not need/require a fan. And just a heatsink.

My server is in a very dusty area, and I want to cut down on moving parts, air flow etc.

any help is great, thanks

you could prolly get one of the newer dual processor Macs...hehe, they have just some giant ass heatsink that takes up the whole case.....

well there is gonna be some airflow otherwise it just wouldnt work as a cooling system

not necessarily airflow deliberately caused by the addition of case fans, but from convection caused by the heatsink warming up the surrounding air

I've heard of some people underclocking a fast cpu (seems crazy) like a 800mhz pIII down to like 300mhz, and would allow less cooling.

In the end I want a quiet machine that can run: apache/mysql/
ftp server, and a webcam
play mp3s, and work with freevo

totally impractical, and expensive

you could use a tualtin or p3 celeron with a large thin fin copper heat sink, and just have air flow vented over the hsf from the side, i know thats how some 1U xeon chips are cooled
