I just bought a Tsumani Dream Machine case ans transfered everything over. In the process I added a ThermalTake Volcano CPU fan that just ate up the previous power supply (350watt), which I has since removed with an older less powerful CPU Thremaltake fan.
Specs:
WinXp Pro
Asus A7V8NX-Deluxe N-Force2 chipset
AMD 3200XP
1Gig DDR2700 Corsair
ATI X800Pro
Using the Onboard Sound "Sound Storm"
Tsunami Dream Machine Case (two 120mm Fans & one 80mm)
200Gig WD HD
20Gig Maxtor (Primary)
400 Watt Thermal Take Power Supply
(all the dirvers have been updated in the last week)
When I put it all back together in the new case it ran for about 5secs then shut off. I thought I might be having a power issue so I removed few peripherals, and still the same. Crap, I must have damaged the CPU, but I tested the CPU in another case with a almost identical in specs MSI motherboard and it worked first try. Then I was thinking my Asus Motherborad? Well, I put an AMD 2500XP and it came right up, and it has been running with all the peripherals hooked up (also retried the 3200). So, now I'm really confused... The big difference betiween the chips are the clock speeds. FSB 400 vs. 200...Help! Is this a good excuse to go for a new motherboard that will support and AMD64? 8)
Thanks
