i got a new dragon plat. ed. but story short it fried. so i got a black ed. from compusa.and it works great but the cpu that is a 2500+barton is see at a 1100 unknow.also for some reason the floppy drive dont work so i cant update the bois.gofig but i think i need to update it to get my cpu speed right.all so it might be that the floppy connection on the mother board it missing one pinn so that might be the prob so i might have to return it.ARH help if you think it might be some thing else or just drop me a line and say hi.

Piece of cake :D You need to change a setting in the motherboard's BIOS so it runs your CPU at the intended speed. Now, there are two Dragon Ultras, one with a KT333 chipset and the other with a KT400 chipset. Is yours the one with the KT400 chipset, like this one?

If it is, then go into the BIOS by pressing the Del key when you see the first POST screen, and then go to the SOYO Combo Feature menu and set CPU Frequency Mode to 166MHz, set CPU To PCI Divider to 5, and set DRAM Clock to By SPD, then save & exit. That should get your CPU recognized as a 2500+.

The 2500+ Barton does in fact run at 1833MHz so you might be just right there :D Hey, if the floppy light is on all the time, that means you need to flip the cable over at one end or the other. Good luck! :D

well i feel so stupid about the whole 1887 thing because i forgot that the xp chips dont run at there lable. hehe dumb mistake :D but for the floppy the light is not on and i tryed it so many dif ways and never got it to work. i know i put it on righ in the first place because for so reason i always put it on wrong. but i know the right way now.arg i thing i will just leave it alone because i never use the floppy but arg just to be on the safe side i will exchange it but thax so much for your great help becuase before what you told me i just got it up to 1100 and now i got it at like 1999 and i am overclocking it and i dont what too hehe so bye and thax so much.:D
